In August 2006, three members of the victorious C Team of 2005 set out for Spain in an attempt to recruit a squad willing to play in the red white and blue shirts of the Retros, and defend their title. John Sharples (Moaning Git), Pete Hackett (Mr Flippy) and DJ (DJ) had no great hopes of success but a determination to get smashed, eat well and play a bagload of lacrosse, and as it happens they succeeded beyond all expectation!

Recruiting a team of players from USA, Germany, Holland and Spain the Retro squad managed to end as runners up in the tournament, to a skilled, youthful and talented team from Poynton Lacrosse.

The best thing about the whole weekend was the number of new friends that were made, and the pleasure of meeting old mates. Thanks Madrid, see you next year!
