Painting Services
|
After seeing the quality of our ready painted units many customers asked if we provided a painting service. Knowing that most gamers have a growing pile of unpainted lead hidden away somewhere we decided it was a public duty to do so.
This service is provided by our partner company Siam painting Services, based in Chiang Mai in Thailand. Our customers have been delighted with the service, especially in the quality of our artist's painting skills. Our aim is to ensure that your figures receive the best possible paint job and arrive with you safely in as short a period as possible, but we must ask you to be patient, we are dealing with staff who have no experience at all of wargames or military history, limited knowledge of western culture, and do not speak English. Delays can occur, but we aim for a turn around time of 10-12 weeks. The step by step list below will hopefully make the process of filling your order simple: - 1. Check our prices here. The range of prices reflects the amount of work and time that will be put into producing the highest quality results in your order. For example a Union infantryman will take less time to complete than an Old Guard Grenadier. Also different makes of model require additional preparation or finishing work and therefore additional cost. Unlike some painters we will paint any type of figure. 2. Contact us by phone, mail, or E-mail to discuss the details of your order, agree a price (a discount is offered on orders over £600), to receive estimate of delivery time, and arranging payment of 20% deposit. We will also provide advice on preparing your package and the customs declaration. 3. Now you have a choice, you may either send the figures to our painting shop by mail or courier, or you may send them to Big Battalions in the Uk and we will include them in our regular shipments to Thailand in exchange for a small handling fee. This will save you a large amount in postage, the draw back is that there may be a delay in pulling together the shipment and your figures being received in Thailand. This is particularly so after a major show such as Salute when we are waiting for orders from customers and figure suppliers. Please ensure that you include the following:
Alternately we can order AB, Eureka, Front Rank, Magister Militum, Baccus, and Flashing Blade models on your behalf from the manufacturer, in which case you will be charged the same price as the equivalent boxed units from stock, inclusive of shipping between the UK and Thailand, duty and VAT. 4. Our skilled artists paint the figures! We aim for a maximum turn around time of 12 weeks from receipt at our factory depending on the size of the order book. 5. We forward to you by e mail or post pictures of your figures, if you are happy we will base your models, wrap and pack them. 6. We will then confirm the total cost including carriage. When payment is made the models are despatched. If you do not mind waiting a little longer shipments to the EU can be included in our regular deliveries of ready painted units. We will then forward the units to you by recorded or special mail, charging a small handling charge and VAT as charged to us by the shippers and HM Customs and Revenue. This is particularly useful, and money saving for larger orders over 2kg. Note that items sent by post have VAT and duty added to the total declared value plus postage cost, and an £8 handling charge added. Sending units with our regular shipments adds a further 16% maximum (handling and shipping costs reduce proportionally for larger orders and shipments) to the cost of your order for shipping, duty , handling etc. Units can then be collected from us direct, at shows or posted via Royal mail as required.
